And it was going so well

Ever have one of those days where you are really on your game? You have a long list of things to do, things just keep falling in place, and you are constantly checking items off and feeling like it is going to be a good day? Well that was me today. I was really feeling like a good wife and mother. I had everything under control and felt like it was going to be a good day. That was until I went to go and change the laundry!...
What this picture fails to show is the rest of the sugar that was spilt on the floor not to mention the water from the green beans. I took this picture thinking I would use it to show is future girlfriends.

Should they go, should they stay, or should I say goodbye

By the end of tomorrow's work day, 5 team members will be on the road looking for another job, and yes, I get to be that bad guy who will deliver some of the notifications. What a week this has been. I mean, what does one do upon learning of violations of policies particularly those that fall under the umbrella of zero tolerance. I often wonder what gets some people to do what they do and think that no one will catch them. It is so disheartening to know that she or he will be pounding the pavement again looking for another opportunity and even more so to think of them going home and explaining the reasons behind the circumstance. Knowing of the violations, it still grieves my heart having to come to a point where I am asking myself, "Should they go ? Should they stay? or Should I say goodbye?"

The healing power of the FORCE

Apparently force is stronger than I realized. Upon noticing that Vai was whining around Grandpa's house I asked him what was wrong.

Vai: " My stomach hurts." (whine, whine, whine)

Mommy: "Hurts, how? Like you are going to throw up?"

Vai: "Yes."

Mommy: "Well maybe we need to go home so you can lay down and rest."

Vai: "Well maybe if I watch Star Wars I will feel better!"

He informed me that he wants to be Darth Vader because he is cool. Darth Vader?, where is he getting this from? Oh he watched about 10 minutes of Star Wars Episode I and like Anakin, the little boy. Then because his uncle told him Anakin becomes Darth Vader now the evil one is cool. He seemed to be feeling better with out watching Star Wars

Happy Birthday Girly

Our Girly is 4 today! It seems like she has been in our family forever but she is only 4. I remember the first words to come out of my mouth when she was born..."She is Here!" I was so excited to have a daughter and I am still excited I get to be her mother. I am amazed at all the things she can do and she is only 4. I am so blessed to have such a beautiful daughter both inside and out. Her strong will and determination are true strengths, I might not always think that way, but I am learning to recognize them as strengths. This little lady of ours potty trained HERSELF right before her 2nd birthday. I was trying to adjust to life with 3 children and a one month old who didn't like to nurse and Girly decided she didn't want to wear diapers anymore. I tried to get her to wait but she didn't want to and so we gave her big girl underwear for her 2nd birthday and she never had an accident. It was the same way with wearing pull ups at night. About 3 months ago she decided she didn't want to wear a pull up to bed. "Mommy, I am big now I don't need a pull up!" Guess what ? She didn't need it and hasn't needed one ever since that night. I love her because she is my daughter, I love her because she is a kind friend. She never wants to leave anyone out. If someone is sad, Girly will be there to cheer them up. She is willing to share and very willing to help. You ask her to clean her room and she does pick everything up. She even tires to make her bed all by herself and she is only4. Even though she is 31 lbs, a tall skinny little thing, she gives the best hugs. She will wrap her arms as tight as she can around you and squeeze! I love getting her hugs. She has a beautiful smile and the best laugh. She is always singing! She constantly makes up songs and even when we tell her it is quite time during church she will still sing only she will whisper. We love our little American Idol. Thank you for being our daughter! Happy Birthday Girly!

Grateful for family, friends, and technology

Wow. I am actually doing this blogging thingy. Well, how wonderful it is to read up on the exciting things that has been going on with you and your loved ones. And how nice it is, by a mouse click, to be able to catch up all the days we've been apart as family and friends . I am thankful for this technology that has allowed my family and I to keep in touch with you and to share stories, pictures, updates, etc. But most importantly, this blogging thingy somehow has made me feel truly blessed and grateful for friends and family like you. Even though we may not see each other regularly, reading through various blogs makes it feel like we are a lot closer then we truly are. The next few days you will hear a little more of what we've been up to in "This crazy thing called life".

what we waited for

My younger brother was married this weekend to a girl I absolutely adore. Now I have two great sil's. It was a beautiful weekend.

We finally succumbed and started a blog!

So here we are after so many of you have asked, begged and even pleaded with me to start a blog. I finally succumbed, I didn't want to do it, I was very content to be a lurker. I read so many cleaver and witty blogs that I worried what would I say. Then I realized that I wanted to do this because I love keeping in touch with people but mostly I wanted to do it so my kids could have some kind of record of my thoughts on being a woman, a wife and especially on being their mother. So here goes...
